A butterfly goes where it pleases, and pleases where it goes, like love. The butterfly- a pretty, little insect that dances among the flowers even on a warm, sunny day. This tiny creature always kindles our happiness and joy. Creatures that are an embodiment of serenity and grace, alluring us with their vivid and eloquent patterns that drape their wings. But behind their concealment of perfection lies a contradictory backstory. This backstory is but its metamorphosis. A butterfly is not born beautiful. Its journey starts as a pupa, a slimy, little creature, crawling over leaves. Wanders around eating the leaves and grows up to spin a cocoon around itself. In a few days, it breaks out of its restricting shell and shows its majestic and ethereal self as it embarks on its journey to scour the lengths and breadths of the globe.
Butterflies have a short but meaningful life born of delight. They zoom past plantations and flower fields, consuming nectar and pollinating vibrantly shaded flowers. It establishes the fact that you can’t live forever but you can live a life worth dying for. And as it nears its end, it lays its eggs under shady leaves of plants.
Often we the so called responsible people try and safeguard our fruits and veggies by spraying chemical fertilizers, pesticides and whatnot which tragically kill the eggs of a delightful creature. In the never-ending search for technology, we compromise with our Mother Nature, kill her creation and become ungrateful for everything we have (our family, friends and loved ones). A butterfly is proof that you can go through a whole lot of darkness and still become something beautiful and that every storm in your life is followed by a rainbow. Let’s be grateful for what we have and learn to be like butterflies and protect our planet, because there is no planet B.
