A.P.J. Abdul Kalam once remarked, “One best book is equal to a hundred good friends.” Little did I anticipate that reading books would become my favorite pastime until I delved into a few. As I immersed myself in books, I discovered hidden benefits that were previously unknown to me, bringing about a positive transformation in myself. This newfound passion for reading has impacted my life significantly, prompting me to share its potential benefits with all of you.
KNOWLEDGE: Reading books for knowledge seems boring to many of us. In this digital world going to a bookstore each time you want to learn something seems quite arduous . When everything is just a click away, why wait to go to a bookstore and find the appropriate book that we need. However, books remain a valuable source of knowledge, offering in-depth insights that digital platforms may not provide.
DIFFERENT VIEWS: Reading exposes us to diverse perspectives. As A.P.J. Abdul Kalam suggested, it allows us to see the other side of the coin. The multitude of authors sharing their knowledge and experiences ensures that we encounter various viewpoints on a given subject, enriching our understanding.
IT IS A POSITIVE DISTRACTION: Sometimes in life, we feel dejected either due to some reasons or for no reason at all. This happens to everyone. But just think for a moment…what good it will do to you. Would you feel perfectly fine after resorting to such negative distraction…No, you will end up losing everything.
So instead, engage yourself in some positive distractions….reading always gives you pleasure until you read something which interests you. Read whatever you like…in the long run, it will be helpful.
Instills Confidence in YOU:”You will be new confident you”. Gaining insight into something new, having knowledge about some new aspects help build your confidence. Engaging with books can foster a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, offering a more meaningful alternative to time spent on less constructive activities, such as playing video games.
These are some of the benefits of reading that have profoundly impacted me. I hope you find them as useful as I have.
