In India, formal education begins as early as age three. However, with the fast-paced nature of traditional schooling, young children are often thrust into rigorous academic routines from day one, with little consideration for their natural pace of growth. At K’sirs, we believe education should be more than just studying concepts; it should be an enriching journey of experiences and exposures that allow children to grow at their own pace, fostering creativity, curiosity, and joy in learning.

For children aged 3-6, many schools adopt specific educational philosophies like Montessori, Cambridge Early Years, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, or Froebel. Each approach offers unique methodologies, yet at K’sirs, we draw inspiration from all these philosophies. We have designed a unique blend, carefully tailored to nurture the needs of young learners, ensuring a holistic learning environment for this critical stage of development.

Our Unique Approach to Early Years

At K’sirs, children in the early years thrive in a mixed-age group setting. This dynamic environment is guided by three dedicated facilitators who create a supportive and enriching space for the children’s learning journey.

Circle Time: Building Community and Curiosity
Each day begins with a circle time where children gather to hear stories, recite rhymes, and engage in discussions about weekly themes. This ritual fosters a sense of community while sparking their curiosity about the world around them.

Hands-On Learning
Children explore a variety of activities—drawing, painting, sculpting, sorting, mixing, and pounding. These hands-on experiences are designed to enhance their motor skills, creativity, and sensory awareness, forming the foundation of experiential learning.

Exploring Through Experiments
Experimentation is an integral part of the K’sirs learning journey. Activities like mixing colours, sensory play, pretend play, and sand exploration offer children the freedom to experiment and learn through discovery.

Play Pen Adventures
Outdoor play is vital for motor skill development. In the play pen, children engage in physical activities like hopscotch, hide-and-seek, and sand play, while also unleashing their creativity and imagination.

Guided Reading: Igniting the Love for Books
Guided reading is introduced in an age-appropriate manner to encourage a love for books and imagination. It helps children connect with stories and explore the boundless world of creativity.

Puppetry and Visual Learning
The puppets children create become tools for storytelling, nurturing both creativity and communication skills. Additionally, short bursts of visual learning through videos make exploring new topics engaging and effective.

Nature Walks: The Classroom Beyond Walls
Nature walks offer a rich and diverse learning environment. Whether picking flowers, seeds, leaves, or weeds, children connect with nature, finding inspiration for art and craft activities while developing a sense of wonder for the natural world.

Age-Based Desk Work
Worksheets, crafts, colouring, and writing form a minimal yet essential part of the curriculum, designed to support age-appropriate development without overwhelming the child.

Flexible and Balanced Schedule

At K’sirs, we prioritize a four-hour school day for our pre-primary children, ensuring that their learning experience is both enriching and balanced. During this time, children engage in a range of activities, from play and art to storytelling and social interaction. The remaining hours of the day are equally important, offering time for rest and family interaction, which are crucial for both physical and mental growth.

A Philosophy Beyond Classrooms

Learning at K’sirs knows no boundaries. Here, children are encouraged to spread their wings and explore knowledge freely, with the school acting as a supportive force that guides them in their journey. Our approach ensures that children embrace play as a powerful tool for learning, growing both academically and emotionally. By fostering a balanced rhythm of activity and rest, we enable children to develop holistically.
