The Blind Tiger Cub

The cub was half blind,

easy for men to find.

Had a beautiful life,

but not for long he was alive.

He was a prince,

born a few months since.

He roamed the deepest,

through the trees in the forest.

He met a group of hunters,

not knowing they were sinister.

His blindness made it easy to be caught,

with a gun he was shot.

They made him into a curio,

with a picture to make people like me curious.

Present in a corner of a plush room,

belonging to a gentleman born with a silver spoon.

I want to hug him tight,

and whisper to him polite.

“sorry my dear for the mankind,

Having been so brutally unkind”.

I draw your fiery face as an art,

with a highly wrenching heart.

When the eyes to be drawn are due,

I pay my tribute to you

Let the international tiger day,

be the eye opener’s way,

to respect the king as a king and never as a curio.
