Hello again,
long time no see. Okay, I know what you are thinking, so let me get to it.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s because I’m a teenage girl that I have anxiety issues. Let’s face it, every teenager faces similar issues. They could range from…
- Too short, too fat, too skinny, wide nose, small palms, funny mouth, hair not curly or straight enough ,feet too small, thighs are huge.
- Body image issues, a subject good enough for us to get cheesed off.
- You’re supposed to look perfect all the time. This coincides with your hormones deciding to go bonkers on others.
- Being polite, bla bla bla..
- Feeling insecure, when you are given a dress to try out, afraid they would fit or not, will I look good in it, trust me it’s the worst.
- Having a perfect posture, walking like a supermodel.
- High expectations. Today’s teenagers are under a lot of stress with a challenge to excel in both academics and sports. It is often also due to high expectations we have of ourselves and the comparison we are put through.
- Getting stressed or worried about their future. What next, is a question that is constantly ringing around us.
- Bullying and partiality among peers.
- The role of social media in our daily lives.
I know what you’re thinking ….
picturing me, giving a dramatic, heartfelt sigh at this point. But, for sure I am not the only one who feels so. Let’s stop convincing others and learn to live by our thoughts and visions, value the opinion of our elders and work towards a brighter side that is often beside us which we fail to see. It’s time to stop pretending and accept the fact that we all feel the same way.
“we are not born to be perfect, but to be awesome”
Well that is all for now, see you in my next blog. This time I intend to give no hints, let me see who gets it right. Till then keep waiting and watching this space for my next blog.
